One of the priorities of the WRDSB is the wellness of our staff and students.  At our school, we are working collaboratively to improve our learning and working environments in the best interest of student and staff well-being.  At our most recent PD session our staff took part in an “Introduction to Mindfulness” course given by Kate Kerr, founder of “Wake Up Kate” .  This sparked some very interesting conversations about staff and student well-being.  As a result, we have introduced some new concepts to our students to help them reduce anxiety, calm their minds, and get them prepared for learning.  You may have heard your child talk about he “Morning Mindful Minute”.  We are starting our days with a calm breathing activity for the whole school right after our morning announcements.  I have attached some resources to provide you with more information about this:
